I'm glad you are joining us on this journey. This blog is the one stop shop for all the things: Behind the scenes, DIYs, advice, recipes, and much more. 

Since this is the first post, let me introduce myself. My name is Kendall Hess, a 22 year old from Hartford City, IN. I love music, art, animals, gardening, baking, and so much more. My main goal with Purrfect Seedlings is to spread the joy of handmade items and building community. I currently work at an animal shelter and am in school training to become a Veterinary Assistant. I also play and write music. I play electric, acoustic, and bass guitar and all percussion instruments, including piano!:) I plan to release music and begin performing again soon.

I don't run Purrfect Seedlings completely alone, though. My long-term boyfriend, Gavin Wolfgang joined the team as well. My last business venture was soley reliant on me, so it has been nice having his help. He also plays percussion instruments. We are practicing and will be looking to start a band in the future so that we can preform and such. 

But enough about us, let's chat about Purrfect Seedlings and our "5 Year Plan." 

If you weren't aware, all of the profit we make from this business is being saved for closing costs on our (hopefully not- so- far future) homestead/ farm house. Here are a few things we have planned for the next 5 years of business... In no particular order:

• Buy a farm home and open up a farm stand
• Open our U-Pick orchard, berry bushes, and flower field
• Open our pumpkin patch
• Grow our family of animals so we can diversify the products we sell
• Begin selling our homegrown produce and veggie seedlings/ starts
• Host a "Freebie Friday" once or twice a year. This would be where people could come, bring things they no longer want, even things that they wouldn't usually donate (think partially used shampoo, food, ext). Then, people who need or what those items can take them. Simple! No trading needed, no buying allowed. Everything on the tables at this event would be free! 

I'm sure there's so much more we will do and will want to do in the next 5 years... But for now, we will focus on saving for our homestead and building up Purrfect Seedlings.
